INSTALLATION REPORTING
This is a critical issue because I managed to get Spamweasel Pro installed and running on my Win98 Home edition computer without ANY problem at all. However, when I installed Spamweasel Pro on a WinXP computer – well, you know what happened. Immediately I get a message that the install had failed and to install the exe again.
I haven’t been able to even think about starting Spamweasel, let alone installing Spamweasel Pro.
I searched the Spamweasel Pro forum and it seems there are several similar problems out there for Win XP. You can try replacing the installer with the updated version and do a fresh install. Or in my case, you can start Spamweasel Pro directly from the original install location and click through the setup and extract the files.
However, even though this is a good workaround, it’s a shame that the Spamweasel team are not updating the installers to support both Windows versions.
