Calculate Room Acoustic Measurements X64

Measuring the room dimensions is a key step towards calculating room acoustic measurements. If the room dimensions are not accurate then the measurements in the spreadsheet will be incorrect.

And by including where the listener is sitting in the room, the home theater environment will be more accurately represented.

The Calculate Room Acoustic Measurements spreadsheet is designed to calculate the following room acoustics parameters:

Frequency Range – The frequency at which the listener perceives loudest to quietest
Frequency Peak and Null – The center frequency at which the sound is perceived to be the loudest and the frequency at which the sound is perceived to be the quietest
Difference between loudest and quietest and between two frequencies (in hertz)
Difference between the peak and null of two frequencies (in hertz)

Please be sure to review the topics in the Help file.

You know, the guy that has got ten thousand problems.
Like him I have a few.
But not as many.”

Better than SRS Audio

(SMARTSystems AG)

We have been using SRS Audio for several years, but we had to change our supplier of audio components due to the constant problems with software and hardware. After SRS Audio went bankrupt, we decided to give CalcRoomAcoustics a try. We are happy to say that CalcRoomAcoustics did not only solve all of our problems but it has also made our rooms sound better than what we had achieved before. With CalcRoomAcoustics we get a more natural sound with less harshness. It is really a pleasure to listen to our system with CalcRoomAcoustics.

Thank you, SRS Audio for giving us the chance to change.

Thank you CalcRoomAcoustics!

CalcRoomAcoustics is an excellent tool for all those who are thinking about acoustical adjustments for their cinema room or home theater.

CalcRoomAcoustics is specially designed for those who are interested in listening to the frequency peaks and nulls.

The tool allows you to easily generate graphical representations of room acoustical information from where you sit in the room.

If you want

Calculate Room Acoustic Measurements

For a home theater with 5.1 multichannel, the listener should be sat at least 20 cm to the speakers. If you would like to listen to the bass speakers from the front of the room, then you may need to move the listener forward as the distance to the center of the theater is less then if the listener would be sat directly in front of the speakers.
The distance is measured in cm and not in inches.
If you have 7.1 Surround, the distance between the front speakers and the listener is the same.
If you have to distance the front speakers, then you need to know the size of your theater, in order to calculate the distance correctly.
The distance between the left and right channels should be exactly same.
If the distance between the left and right channels is too big, there will be a noticable distortion in the audio.
If the listener is too far from the front left channel, the impact of the front speakers will be dampened and will not be reproduced correctly.
If the listener is too far from the front right channel, the impact of the rear speakers will be dampened and will not be reproduced correctly.
If you have a 5.1 Surround, the distance between the left and right speakers is the same as the distance between the front and back speakers.
If you have 7.1 Surround, the distance between the left and right speakers is the same as the distance between the front and back speakers.
If the listener is too far from the front left and the front right speaker, they will be out of sync and the audio will distort.
If the listener is too far from the back left and the back right speakers, they will be out of sync and the audio will distort.
If you have more than one bass speakers, you should place them around the listener to provide better bass performance.
If you have more than one 5.1 Surround speaker, you should place them around the listener to provide better surround sound performance.
If you have more than one 7.1 Surround speaker, you should place them around the listener to provide better surround sound performance.
If you are using speaker zones, you need to know the size of the room, to be able to calculate the distance of the zones.
